Tony – No Way

Dear Tony,

I have to advise that you will never be the Prime Minister of Australia – and thats a fact.

Give it up now and let someone with conviction lead your alternate party to power – if thats what the electors want.

What a goose!!! Oh, and a self-confessed Liar!!!!

Lookout ! Is that Malcolm waiting in the wings….

Carn the Blues

Here we go again, the teams are back to square one where the bounce of the ball will determine this year’s winner.

Will it be the banana benders or the cockies that take out the honours and bragging rights for the next 12 months (if I knew, I’d put a lot of money on it).

Should be a goodun….

FIFA

Can’t say any surprises in the 2018 and 2022 (who cares anyway – I’ll be dead by then) World Cup. Russia is sure to be a stable country; look at it’s history AND it has 11 time zones. Wonder of it will be Moscow/St Petersburg centric (i.e. the sort of West) – or will they spread it all across the Steppes and into Siberia? Lot of travelling time for teams.
Qatar is even odder. 1.5 M pop.(expecting another half million tourists and they have an alcohol ban which they will address…?) – 10 – 15 stadia built underground, within a 20 km ring, all air conditioned and connected by some sort of train (the obvious – sorry – ask the NSW Govt – they’ll set it up as long as it goes to Rozelle). So what if it’s 60 upstairs – there is no up stairs! That’s where Qatari’s live – not you! YOU come in on an underground airport – cycle through your matches – pretend you aren’t drinking (but chain smoke?) and pop back out the other end at another underground airport. Gee – sounds ….great.
Thanks heavens we didn’t get it. Wouldn’t have seen it anyway. As noted, can we call it soccer again now?

Is this THE year for the Mighty

OMG – I hope so, otherwise I’ve got to go to Arncliffe to take someone out!!.

They’ve done just enough and looking at the Manly thrashing, you’ve got to say that they have the goods this year.

Yeah, there are some failings, Soward cant tackle, Gaz jangles a bit, but to counter this, their forwards are just so ruthless and big and fast.

This is the year – for sure.

Oh, does anyone know the theme song used on Friday night footy – its got me bugged.

Shall I Hang out the Washing?

You’ve got to hand it to the Australian voting public to be so easily brain-washed by the popular press….

What a waste of time you voters must have experienced, just to find out that your ill-informed opinion put an X next to the name/party/organisation that you thought was going to drive our country into the next century…

You idiots!!!!

I’m ashamed to call myself an Australian if this is what we can expect from our voting public.

Cant you see ??? You have a problem!!! Turn off the fucking TV and formulate an opinion by yourselves.

Fuck me, this is a ridiculous situation..you have opened the door for more years governed by the conservatives…!!!!

AAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NBN Co. vs TAB

I watched with anticipation as two fools from the Liberal Party launched their ‘Tony Abbott Broadband’ Plan.

I was not disappointed in my perception that the TAB would be an utter failure and wouldnt even deliver anything of serious note except a cup of tea at 3 o’clock, a Bex and a good lie down.

How can they be serious to expect that the Australians of Australia accept their ‘vision’ of a modern connected country.

It has to be the best joke ever played on the Australian public.

If we decide to put these morons back in power, we will be seeing an antiquated service at an all time high price, due to the Liberals need to save a penny by pushing all the development out to the private sector based on public demand. Havnt they seen ‘Field of Dreams’ ??? !!!!!!!

I’ve been in the IT industry for around 40 years and with this plan, the TAB plan, which is just rubbish, Australia will be stuck in the back waters of modern technology for a very, very long time.

What a joke, but then, I’ve come to expect that from Johnny’s illegitimate catholic son.

INCEPTION – What a great movie

I saw it last night and I gotta tell ya, it is fantastic. It made me think of the premise for a long while after the end. Fast moving, action packed and a typical ‘hold on to your suspenders’ type of movie. The actors were believable without going over the top.

Recommend to everyone, I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

The Maroon Jug-A-Naught

Well, well, well…. they did it again, only this time a clean sweep.

Based on their performance, they should be the Kangaroo squad with maybe a couple of backups from NSW.

White washed (or should I say Maroon washed)!

Now, dont get me wrong, I’m NOT a Maroon sympathiser, just realistic and like to see a good hard game.

Maybe next year.

Hiya 6

Back from hols and blecchh or good? What was the best part – what was the worst part. This is for the generation that can’t concentrate on anything for more than one minute or have seriously affected their heads somehow? Time to get the white shoes out again.

The Top End to the Bottom End

Long time no write here. Been on the road just tooo much.
Now, were did I leave off…..Croc Country.

Darwin – whats not to like about Darwin? Humidity you can see, rain that is wet, local indigenous folk hanging the street, the biggest govt. house ever….and more…cant say that I could live there for too long.

The Alice – as always an oasis in the guts. Yes folks, the same local street hangers only this time they are pesky.

Down to the wine capital of Oz – the Barossa and in particular Tanunda. I nice little village in set amongst the grapes, very nice and relaxing and not unlike Hahndorf.

Following the Mighty Murray to Albury with it’s diverse agriculture was worth the effort. Echuca was the stand-out address here.

Am now on the way back to the gold coast and have stopped off at Harrington to regather the thoughts and think about what has happened over the past 7 months.

The Gorge-ous Katherine

Just had to take a tour-boat up the mighty Katherine river into the Gorge. You know the photoshot of the gorge with the boat, well, that was me in the boat (along with others).

Katherine isnt much to look at, just a lot of the locals hanging around the main street and sitting under trees in the park.

It seems that in the outback towns that this is what the locals do for a living. They get their ‘divie’ from the govt. and just hang around – no ‘work for the dole’ around here mate, I’m a local and proud of it, and this is my land anyway!!!

I’m just sad and outraged at the plight of the locals.
Sad because this situation was created by the new-comers.
Outraged because most of the locals wont get off their skinny arse to change their lot in life.

Oh, I digress, thats right, I was on a boat trip up the Gorge….beautiful and striking countryside, just lovely.

Kununurra – Croc country

A weird place is the mighty Ord.

They dammed the river to provide irrigation for crop farming on the Ivanhoe Plains, but it seems that they havnt yet decided what to grow after 40+ years of testing crops.

Now there is a bucket load of Sandlewood Trees – yes, readers, sandlewood. I know that there is a market for it somewhere and heaven only knows the last time I used it.

In fact I dont even know what it is used for except for some smelly stuff that may/may not be rubbed on the body or burnt in an islamic mosque…

Why? I asked myself and my companion traveller the very same question.
What about some vegies, instead of trees that will take around 10 years to harvest.
What about some vegies, to feed the starving ozzie minions? I just dont understand. Oh, there were some mangoes growing and supposedly some rice but we never saw the rice.

The night they drove old Ramsgate down….

One dream left – an empty hall – every bit of musical apparatus, maybe a G5 or 2 and everyone who can make a noise. Hire it out for 6 hours and the last jam….I’ve been playing acoustic for so long on my own my fingers are warped (must admit I can play a bit now now and sing). Imagine – one big last get to together – Glenn on bass, Max on everything, Wayne on Geetar, me on on that plus other stuff, Ian Sax, Richard, Glenn E – the whole bango!

We’d need to find a location but computers may make it easier.

I’d like to do it at Carlton but maybe Armidale to annoy Peter.

Dreams – but it could be done.

Denham Bin Nazi

Here at the Denham Seaside Caravan Park, we keep moving the rubbish bins to a more convenient location for us and the bin-nazi keeps moving it back to a more central but inconvenient location.

‘Do you know who keeps on moving the bins?’ was the question. So I said with a dead-pan response – ‘Yep’.

He went on to say that they are in a more central and convenient location so that the happy campers can ‘walk’ to them.

I’m thinking, get real, there is only 4 sites that have campers and there are about 15 bins. So, why not make our stay a little more comfortable and have our own personal bin. Heaven knows, I dont want to ‘walk’ everywhere especially to a ‘more central and convenient location’ – I’m on holidays!!!

Now, he has taken our strategically placed bin and put it with the rest of them in the ‘more central and convenient location’. I’m going to do it again today and by the end of our stay I reckon there will be the complete set of 15 in ‘more central and convenient’ location.

You’ve just gotta laugh.

Unkempt and in Perth

What a disappointment. To come out of the wilderness of the South West and into a capital city that is just a mess was a bit of a shock.

I’ve been there before, a long time ago, so I was kind of expecting something different. To use the word unkempt is an understatement. Perth is a dump!

Maybe it was all the roadworks (spending the royalties, no doubt), maybe it was the locals, maybe they are so entrenched in building new stuff, they’ve forgotten to clean up.

Unhappy Janet.
